Blueberry

Yesterday I saw a 11 month girl who was eating blueberries. I was shocked because I thought berries belong to 'Berry' family which cause allergy. But I was wrong. Blueberries are not in there. They are much closer to cranberries which are known as least-allergy fruits. Here is a great website for baby food.

You can find more helpful information there. Blueberries are great finger food. 10month Y really likes it.

2010 Oscar

Last year I didn't have much time for watching movies as usual. I know I watched movies more than 9, but I can't remember all. My memory is getting worse.

Here is the list : Julie and Julia, District 9, Hangover, 2012, Up, Sherlock Holmes, 500 days of summer, Twilight new moon, The time traveler's wife.

Each of them has different tastes. I love all. But sadly in Oscar best picture nominee there are only 2 movies which I watched. So if I poll, I will go for "Up". :)

Here is the 2010 oscar nomination list.

Best Picture: Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Precious, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air
Actor in a Leading Role: Jeff Bridges, George Clooney, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman, Jeremy Renner
Actress in a Leading Role: Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Gabourey Sidibe, Meryl Streep
Directing: Avatar, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Up in the Air, Precious

And I don't have any schedule for Oscar party. But If I have, I want to try these recipes! :) Martha suggested a great idea for edible movie party.

Splish, Splash

Splish, Splash !

When I poured the water on her tray, she was very excited and enjoyed splashing it. Although the floor was wet, so I should mop it quickly, I was so pleased to see her play.

I wondered how she felt and what she thought when she splashed the water. I wish she grow fast until she can express her feeling.

2010 Valentine Day

This was the third Valentine's day after I got married. On the first Valentine's day I prepared chocolates, sweets and spaghetti (that was my best food what I could make at that time). On the second time I made chocolate covered strawberries. But this time as Y caught severe cold last whole week, I couldn't go outside even grocery shopping. So I made this sweet Valentine cards and hairpin.

I used a free download template from twig & Thistle to make the printable card. Originally that is for goodie bag but I used it for card. The pattern is so pretty. For the other one I sewed together 3 heart shaped felts on card paper. And for hairpin I used ribbon tape and 3 heart shaped felts. I glued it on my old hairpin which I didn't use anymore.

In the afternoon we went shopping and I got these beautiful red color sweaters and jean at American Eagle as Valentine's day gifts. Red looked so bold but I liked it. Thanks B!

Peach Tree

The day before Valentine day we planted a peach tree. This was a present for Y which was given from B. When I was pregnant, it was peach picking season so we named Y as a peach. And we promised that we would plant a peach tree if we had a small place. Even though we didn't have proper tools for gardening, B dig a hole with a tiny shovel and planted the tree successfully at the sunny place in our backyard.

After B finished the job, I searched internet and I found out that raising the peach tree was hard.
But I wish I can see peach in my backyard.

Baby Language

"Y" just turned 9 month old. These days "Y" became very talkative.
She can say "um-ma (it means mother in korean)" and "ab-ba( it means father in korean)". Once she got to know these words, she was constantly blabbering.

But she didn't use them correctly. Sometimes she called me abba and another time she called my husband umma. And usually she liked to say abba when she played with toys. So I thought she was saying these words meaningless. But today it turned out I was wrong. While I was playing with "Y" I noticed that she had her own meaning on these words. When she wanted something or she felt uncomfortable she said umma and when she was satisfied she said abba.

Hooray!

It's like that I can speak foreign language.
